Aunt Mary, Son Sean

This has been an exciting couple of weeks. Aunt Mary came for a visit and we got so much done. Including birth announcements and reorganizing the kitchen. She also celebrated her 24th birthday while here. Sean's present was to sleep through birthday dinner, it was very nice of him! He grew so much while she was here.

This one is from the day she got here.

And this is the day before she left. We are really going to miss her.

Mark has been singing the song "You are my Sunshine" to Sean since he was born. He'll sing it while changing his diaper or getting him to sleep. He was so excited to share his revision of the song with me. He changed sunshine to son Sean and laughed every time he sang it. He is a good daddy! (Sorry, no singing in the video.)

  1. How wonderful for your sister to come visit and meet Sean, she looks so happy holding him :)

And don't worry, he will sleep longer, but they are all different. 4 hour stretches are not bad, especially when they can nurse on while lying on their side. Put him in bed with you, latch him on and both of you rest!

I also have a trick that the AAP wouldn't be happy to hear about, but at about 7-8 weeks I put my babies on their stomach to sleep and they start sleeping through the night. My pediatrician has learned not to ask me if the kids are sleeping on their backs and the older nurses support my choice.

Good luck to you, you will sleep again one day :)
